​Martha Markowsky is a nationally known award winning Ottawa artist, represented in galleries in Quebec and Ontario. The artist has been painting professionally for 30 years with more than 15 solo gallery exhibitions. She is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and in 2008, the City of Lachine awarded Martha the Award of Excellence for her contributions in art. In 2009, she was awarded second prize for originality in oil painting at the Circle des Artistes et Peintres de Quebec (CAPSQ). As well, she has received many other awards. Martha taught acrylic/oil painting with numerous associations, giving workshops in Charlevoix and Kamouraska regions of Quebec and Ontario, as well as Limoux, France. Martha has paintings in several countries around the world, participating in many group shows, including solo exhibitions at the various galleries. She is a member of the West Carleton Art Society, L’Atelier de Peinture de Lachine, Visual Arts Ontario. Private and corporate collectors include Former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, Right Honourable Jean Chretien, Ottawa Senators Hockey Association, Royal Ottawa Golf Club, TSN Toronto, the late Josef Karsh, Carmichael Engineering, and many more. She is listed in The Canadian Guide of Artists in Galleries 2018-19 as well as The Canadian Who’s Who 2020 and GOOGLE.
